Could You Be My Garden

The number of US farms continues to decline. This problem has created food deserts and has hurt communities. Some have tried to solve this problem with creating their own gardens, taking on a farm-to-table lifestyle However, some of us do not have green thumbs or space to house such a garden to fulfill our needs. We can solve this problem by having community gardens in every neighborhood. Each resident can volunteer a few hours of their time to pitch in and maintain the garden all the while getting guidance on the best way to take care of plants. I believe we would each feel a sense of pride as we see our community garden and relationships with neighbors’ flourish.
